[18 Apr 2006|01:17pm]
So I'm driving around, windows down, listening to Ramones and get stopped at a light. These ladies in the van next to me start talking...

Lady: "Wanna buy my kids? 2 for a dollar!"
Me: "I don't know, I don't have enough room in my car" (which was true, as my backseat was full of shopping bags)
Lady: "Well, we can arrange a partial payment plan"
Me: "Tell you what, I'll take them if I can keep them in the trunk"
Lady: "Ooooh! We gonna trade at the next red light!"

Today is the perfect day for the Ramones. It's super nice out - all warm and sunny! It doesn't even matter that the Ramones almost completely suck - it's just that kind of a day.

Charles Bukowski is easily the greatest author of all time. He is also easily the biggest douche bag of all time but I think both titles probably go hand in hand. He only uses capital letters when he's referring to himself.

I probably just bought a $50 Harajuku Lovers shirt.

HAPPIEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE!!! I went to see what the balance was to my checking account, expecting it to be around $200 and it was $700!!! My tax return came!!! This means I am probably going to do some online shopping to celebrate :)

Spent the weekend up in Indiana again! The Signal played a show at some coffee place in Indiana and we stayed at Kyle's vacation home in Town of Pines (I think that's what it was called anyways...)

I have decided that I am definitely planning a trip to Minnesota to stay in a lakeside cabin with Jake, Kyle, Alex, Ben and maybe Spencer. Swimming, fishing and Apples to Apples!

So, that storm the other night, well, I was at work (where else would I be, srsly.) and the sirens started going off and we were still getting customers. Then the power started flashing on and off and we were still getting customers. Then the wind almost blew me away and there were waves in the puddles and we were still getting customers. Apparently every fast food place went out of power except Sonic, so we did about 8 times our usual buisness and then when I got home I practically needed a machete to hack through all of the tumbleweed that accumulated at my door step.

I worked 50 hours this week and for April's Fools, I put in my 2 weeks notice. I think if the store manager had been around to see that, he probably would have cried. :)

SO MY LIFE IS PRETTY MUCH RUINED [31 Mar 2006|09:19pm]
[ music | the Beauty Shop - "Monster" ]

"Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo has revealed to Boston magazine that he is engaged, and will be married as soon as he finishes his Harvard degree this spring. Cuomo met his fiancee, Kyoko Iko, at a solo gig the singer played in Boston back in 1997. A band spokesperson told the magazine that the wedding is expected to take place in Los Angeles some time after graduation."

WHAT THE FUCK. :(

Oh my God. Oh my God. Lollapalooza's 2006 lineup may just be better than last years.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kanye West, Wilco, Flaming Lips, Death Cab, Ween, Queens of the Stone Age, the Shins, Common, Ryan Adams, Sonic Youth, New Pornographers, Iron and Wine, Secret Machines, Eels, Reverend Horton Heat, Andrew Bird, Cursive, Nada Surf, Mates of State, Sparta, Of Montreal etc. etc. etc!!! I really want Modest Mouse to join on. I'll probably make a petition or something.

I applied for a job at Subway today. After being KICKED OUT of class, I have extra time and I would feel worthless sitting on the couch all day watching VH1 reruns.

Ames was completley awesome. Mad props to my car. 48 mpg. highway with a shot timing belt! Sha and I did all sorts of old-timey things like eating cheese balls, shopping and making shirts. And now I don't get to see her for another half a year :( "...anal penetration..."

J. Krone is in surgery tomorrow so ... umm... there is a .08% chance that he'll die. Wouldn't that suck?

Work is so excellent! I made about a hundred in tips over the weekend and my paycheck broke $400. Unfortunetly, school is suffering because of this. My English prof. dropped me from the class because my paper wasn't up to par. I told her how uninspired I was for the subject and that I didn't even think I could B.S. my way through it so I guess it's probably my fault.

I am embarking on a road trip tomorrow. All by myself :) I have never driven on the interstate before so it should be interesting, considering that I am traveling a good... oh, lets say 15 hours. I just hope my car can take it, as I just broke the 100,000 mile marker on it. Wish me luck!

LOLLAPALOOZA LINE-UP ANNOUNCED IN 2 DAYS!!!!! And I saw Of Montreal (kind of) last Saturday but I missed Bailey (boo hoo.)

Here is what I've got for you so far:

So yeah, Fridays and Swing. Also Julia and I blindfolded Jason and fed him string cheese and pizza lunchables as we blasted N.W.A. Pretty good times. Going to Of Montreal this weekend with Jason and Mike. Yup.

So, Ashlee Simpson is coming to the Assembley Hall! Very exciting, I suppose. I'm not a big fan of her music but I've never been to a pop show before so I think it should be interesting. Erin and I are going because we're the O.G.s

Sha is in town this weekend!

So yesterday I had a really big scare! I went to check the balance of my checking account online and it said -$205. I knew that wasn't right so I went to see my check list and saw that I had apparently written two $50 checks and a $10, each check creating a $25 overdraw fee. So I go to search for my book and it's missing!! YEAH. So I go to the bank immedeatly to cancel my book and the lady pulls up images of the checks in question. What happened was my dad took my book by accident (because we have the same style checks) and had been using them.

So now I am back to a comfortable $17. Just enough for gas until payday. :)

Unbunny is one of my new favorite bands. http://www.myspace.com/unbunny

Last night Jason and I bought lots and lots of candy and watched About A Boy and then Joe and I ate lots and lots of chicken nuggets and watched Rocky.

Pierre got into a fight with one of my parakeets. It was pretty brutal. My tally on pets? 4 parakeets, 1 cocketiel, 1 cat, one dog, 1 fish.

Spring break? I am leaving the Wednesday before for Iowa City, staying there a night with my grandparents, then leaving to Ames to visit Shauna, then leaving Ames on Sunday for Iowa City to stay with... I don't know yet (haha) then I am coming back into Champaign on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday I am going to Robinson for the day with Joe and on Thursday I am going to try to do a 10 hour shift at work to make up for the week and on Friday I am going to Indiana with Jake, Kyle, Alex, Jake Lee, Mike Theis, and maybe Ben McKenna because Jake's band has a show there and are going to stay overnight at Kyle's vacation house and coming back on Sunday. You follow?

Apparently Flea confirmed that Red Hot Chili Peppers are playing Lollapalooza!

So yesterday I had to work at ghetto Sonic. And the rumors were true. Ghetto Sonic truly was ghetto. They had a spatula that was quite literally the size of my thumb. But anyways, Erin went to go answer a monitor (which is what you talk to the customers on) and she presses the button and says "Do you think it's hot in here!?" The customer was all like "um, that's it...". Hahahaha! I think that probably beats the time that I said "Welcome to Wal-Mart, may I take your order please?"

I am currently wearing sweat pants, a plain t-shirt, boots and my watch. Pajamas, pretty much. Total cost of this outfit?

$410.

I live too well.

I spent Valentine's Day like a fucking pimp. Jake and I went out to lunch at Zelma's and Joe Dart made me some AMAZING chicken alfredo for dinner. And I made lots of chocolate cheesecake! Lots of chocolate overall and some two finger salutes.
On Monday, Joe and I get to work at the Champaign Sonic from 5-8. I am really really excited! Also, they announced that Lollapalooza was going to be 3 days long this year and that the lineup will be posted soon. And I am about to eat McDonalds. Yeah!
